Piperly

An iPad ebook reader for kids. Tap a word, hear it spoken.

Brewing

Piperly is Sarah’s first app, and an idea she’s been poking at for awhile that she finally figured out how to actually do successfully, so that’s been quite rewarding. Her youngest has severe dyslexia but still wants to be able to read books without relying 100% on audiobooks or constantly asking for help. Piperly fills that gap by loading DRM-free EPUB books, wrapping every word in a tappable element, and using the on-device text-to-speech to read tapped words aloud. Kids can track and build vocabulary by tapping words they don’t know, they don’t have to listen to words they do know, and each tap saves the word to a personal word list they can refer back to later.

Screenshots coming soon! And a TestFlight link!
